TEACHING
PHILOSOPHY
1.
My primary goal is to help to increase a students ability to learn.
2. I match my teaching method accordingly to the
way a student learns. Thus, I make the curriculum and approach
to teaching flexible to meet the needs of the individual student.
3. From the moment a student walks into my studio
there must be an atmosphere that is welcoming and safe.
For me, the self-esteem of my pupil plays a key role in their educational
& personal development.
With that in mind, it is my personal objective that all students leave
a lesson, besides with a bit more
insight & knowledge of music, feeling a bit better about themselves.
4. For myself, the journey matches or exceeds
the destination. Too often I hear from other teachers & parents
how their child achieved a grade 8 or beyond, only to quit and never play
again.
I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I meet a parent whose child
is now in university or married
and they tell they're still playing the piano. |
