My name is Ron Willmot
and I teach the piano & flute from my home studio in Pickering, Ontario.
For the past thirty years I have made my career as a music teacher and
performing musician.
I tutor all ages, from young children to people well into their senior
years.

I'd be happy to discuss your situation and what you're looking for in
a teacher. Before committing
to lessons I do ask that we have a "Meet & Greet", to establish
your expectations, method of
teaching & studio policy. There is absolutely no charge for this and
usually takes about a half-hour.
Lessons are conducted in a fun & relaxed atmosphere
with an emphasis on teaching the kind of
music the student both enjoys and relates to.
For Piano Lessons:
I am one of the few teachers in Durham Region offering a dual curriculum
in classical and
pop music . Besides RCM exam preparation, it is my goal to help students
understand the
“language of music” Whether you or your child are taking piano
for the first time, or have had years of
experience, I have a method & repertoire to suit your individual needs.
Over the years I’ve helped
many students who had given up piano or were tired of traditional lessons,
regain an interest in
piano. Some styles taught are:
· Pop & Rock Piano
· Classical (Royal Conservatory Exam Preparation)
· Blues & Light Jazz
· Hymns, Gospel & Judaic
· The Old Standards
For Flute Lessons:
I began playing the flute in 1969 and studied for several years at the
Royal Conservatory.
I started teaching flute and performing professionally in 1977.
With the new mandate of compulsory learning of an instrument in public
schools,
there has been an increased demand for teachers of band instruments.
Unfortunately, most school music teachers only have a minimal knowledge
of the different band
instruments other than their own. I can help your child excel at performing
the flute in school
as well as preparing them for RCM examination if desired.
